What it does
TokenTax imports crypto activity, flags missing data and produces gains, income and tax-software reports. Plans are purchased per tax year, starting at $49 for 100 transactions, and an account is required; professional reconciliation and full filing have separate service terms.
Before buying, ask support to assess your transaction count and the platforms you used. TokenTax does not offer a free trial, demo or preview. Basic covers up to 100 transactions for $49 per tax year; Premium is $199 for 5,000, Pro $1,999 for 20,000, and VIP $3,499 for 30,000 centralized-exchange transactions with advanced reconciliation. Full filing is a separate add-on available with any crypto tax plan.
In Imports, choose Add New and search for the exchange or blockchain. Exchange API connections read records directly; an API is the connection between the two services. Files use the Add CSV route. An In Review status means the CSV needs the team’s attention. The formatting service covers exchange exports; unsupported decentralized-finance activity may instead need TokenTax’s manual template.
Use the Tax Dashboard’s year selector to inspect a purchased year. Currency, acquisition-date and sale-date filters narrow its taxable events; the additional filters include missing cost basis and zero proceeds. Expand an event to investigate its components, and check the country, base currency and accounting settings used for the calculation.
After correcting transactions, Recalculate Data refreshes the calculations. It does not fetch new exchange activity: resynchronize the relevant connection from Imports first when that is needed. Deleting a whole import also removes its edits, so check its contents before changing historical records.
In Documents, select the year and required output, such as a gains-and-losses report, income report or TurboTax CSV. The dashboard estimate excludes non-crypto filing information. Exporting those records therefore remains a different task from completing a full tax return.
