What it does

Tonscan provides separate TON mainnet and testnet explorers for addresses, blocks and transactions. Its public code mirror supports local builds, subject to a noncommercial license and differences from the deployed website.

Use the Tonscan instance for the network on which the activity occurred. Mainnet is hosted at tonscan.org, while the testnet instance has its own address and testnet label. A transaction produced during development will not acquire a mainnet history simply because the same account identifier is searched there.

Address labels have a separate contribution process. Entries in the shared address book do not automatically become entries in the explorer’s search. That distinction matters when a known name fails to appear even though an address can be identified elsewhere.

For a local build, the repository describes environment files for the mainnet and testnet configurations, dependencies to install, and distinct production-build commands. TON Center credentials and a DYOR endpoint are recommended settings. Real-time search depends on Typesense access, which can use a team’s own service or a requested guest key.

Two limits matter before adapting the code. The repository is a mirror and may trail the live deployment. Its license is CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, which restricts reuse to noncommercial purposes and imposes attribution and sharing conditions. A public repository is not permission to deploy it commercially without further authorization.

Strengths

  • Separate hosted instances distinguish test activity from mainnet history
  • Mainnet and testnet builds have separate configuration paths

Watch out for

  • The public mirror may differ from the current live application
  • The published code license does not permit unrestricted commercial reuse

Best for

  • People following TON addresses or development transactions
  • Technical users evaluating a permitted noncommercial explorer build
