What it does
TrackerControl analyzes tracking-related app behavior and code, with an Android monitoring/blocking app and separately labeled iOS code reports.
TrackerControl carefully distinguishes evidence from code and evidence from connections. Its current page says an embedded tracking SDK may be present without being activated, while Android network results show contacted destinations. Use that distinction when interpreting an app report. The Android app can monitor and block locally, but the iOS reports do not block traffic or prove a transfer occurred. Google Play's Slim edition also has reduced blocking compared with the full app.
Strengths
- Clear distinction between code indicators and observed connections
Watch out for
- iOS reports do not block traffic or establish observed transfers
Best for
