What it does

TronLink is a free self-custody wallet for TRON accounts, staking and application connections. Its browser extension also covers Ethereum, BSC and BTTC; the ordinary wallet setup does not require personal-information registration.

TronLink centres on TRON's account and staking model. Staking can obtain or delegate network resources, while the extension also manages supported Ethereum-compatible networks. Check which account and chain a connected application is asking to use before approving its request.

Its GasFree option changes the currency used to pay for a transfer. It does not make the transfer free: a service provider processes supported token payments and charges in the token being sent, instead of requiring TRX for that route.

From the home screen, open Use GasFree Wallet and choose Send. Enter the recipient, token and amount. The confirmation includes a transaction charge and, on first use, an activation charge. Review the total before Submit. Processing means the provider is still submitting the transaction; completion requires a successful blockchain confirmation. The token's page then shows the related transfer records.

Swapping has a separate cost structure. TronLink's standard service rate is 0.85% of the input amount, with some pairs exempt. The charge can differ by direction. It is deducted before the swap and appears separately from the exchange route's Swap Fee. Check the confirmation total, which governs if the earlier quote differs.

The wallet itself has no download charge and keeps keys locally. TronLink's published mainland China restriction blocks access to third-party applications there; it should not be read as a statement that every wallet function has closed. Other providers can impose their own conditions. Holding or staking a token does not prevent price losses, and approving the wrong transaction can permanently transfer control of funds.

Strengths

  • Multiple accounts can jointly control assets through multisignature settings
  • A Ledger connection offers hardware-based transaction signing
  • TRON node selection can be changed when a connection is unavailable

Watch out for

  • GasFree processing depends on a service provider and applies only to supported tokens
  • A swap can include both the exchange route charge and a distinct wallet service fee

Best for

  • TRON users comparing resource-based and token-funded transaction costs
  • People managing TRON and supported extension networks with separate account controls
