What it does

Trovata connects and standardizes bank data for cash positions, forecasting, reconciliation and accounting workflows. Finance teams can check whether daily balances agree with transactions and assign ledger codes for export. Its paid base package has stated bank, account, transaction and user allowances.

Trovata uses normalized bank data as the foundation for cash reporting and treasury work. Trovata Cash provides visibility and forecasting; Trovata TMS extends the setup into capital markets, intercompany accounting and other treasury operations.

Check that the bank feed adds up

The Reconciliation module compares the change in an account's balance with its net transaction activity. Use Daily View for a day's movements or Periods View for a longer interval. The Items Reconciled setting lets you group by account, entity, region or division.

A green check or red cross reflects the configured threshold. Click into the account or transaction detail to investigate. If data is missing, compare the bank portal and ask Trovata support to backfill the feed. This check tests whether the imported bank activity is complete.

Prepare accounting codes

In Transactions > G/L Tags > G/L Codes, upload the ledger codes or add them individually. Create a New G/L Tag, define the transaction search criteria and assign its debit and credit codes.

Switch on Automatically Tag for overnight application. Rules run from the top of the list downward, and each transaction can have only one G/L tag. Untagged movements can be selected and assigned manually.

Workbooks exports tagged records for preparation and upload into the accounting system. An automated connection uses the Developer Portal and requires mapping, formatting and posting logic for the destination system; tagging alone does not build that integration.

Base package and expansion

The base package costs $24,000 per year and includes one bank, 100 accounts, one million transactions and ten users. It includes cash reports, forecasts, workbooks and standard support. Extra banks, capacity or users require a quote.

Some accounting connections and professional services are add-ons. Trovata TMS has a separate sales discussion, so confirm which product and integration work the proposal includes before starting implementation.

Strengths

  • Normalizes bank information for cross-bank cash reporting
  • Checks balance changes against the transactions received
  • G/L tags connect bank activity with the business’s debit and credit codes

Watch out for

  • The base package includes only one bank connection
  • Each transaction can carry only one G/L tag
  • Custom automated accounting exports require integration work

Best for

  • Corporate finance teams building a shared bank-data and cash-reporting workflow
  • Accounting teams preparing bank activity for ledger import
