What it does
Tryton is free open-source business software with financial and analytic accounting connected to sales, purchases and stock. Its Account module provides account structures, fiscal years, journals and financial statements. Deployment requires a server and PostgreSQL database, with a web or desktop client.
Establish the accounting structure first
Tryton's Account module separates initial setup from daily bookkeeping. Set up the chart of accounts, create a fiscal year and fill the opening balance. The usage guides then cover journal entries, reconciliation, statements and closing periods.
Because sales, purchasing and stock are separate connected modules, you can add the operational areas the business needs. Country modules and accounting settings still need to match the organization.
Running Tryton
The software is open source, with source archives and installation packages available directly. It uses an application server, PostgreSQL and a web or desktop client. Desktop clients are supplied for Windows, macOS and Linux.
The Try the demo link provides a first look; Get Tryton explains installation options. Businesses that need deployment or ongoing help can use the listed service providers. Free software does not include a provider's hosting, configuration or support work.
