What it does
TSB New Zealand offers personal and business banking, with Connect Plus for everyday personal spending. Connect Plus has no account fee or annual debit-card fee and can be managed online, in the app, at branches or by phone. Account names, activity alerts and card controls help organize day-to-day money.
Personalized account names turn similar balances into recognizable purposes, while alerts help follow activity between logins. TSB’s mobile app and online banking also let customers change their card PIN, temporarily block a card or report it lost.
Connect Plus has no account fee. Withdrawals and balance checks at TSB, Allpoint and New Zealand bank-branded ATMs have no transaction fee, while other ATM operators and services can charge. Phone Banking has a NZ$10 access fee per user every six months and a NZ$3 payment-establishment fee per authority. Its debit card has no annual fee, with separate service charges possible.
Applicants over 18 who live in New Zealand can complete the online joining form. For a joint account, both people must meet those conditions and complete their parts of the application. Those outside New Zealand have a message or telephone enquiry route. Existing customers can select Apply in online banking’s left-hand menu to open another account.
TSB and Heartland
The proposed merger remains subject to regulatory approvals. TSB says the shareholder vote did not complete it and that existing accounts, cards, apps and branches continue as usual. Its update expects completion no earlier than December 2026. That proposal is separate from the current process for opening or managing a TSB account.
