What it does
MoneyStats records income, spending, budgets and savings goals on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Its core functions are free and require no registration. Paid upgrades add unlimited entries and other tools, while bank connections use an optional subscription in supported countries.
For everyday cash purchases, a shortcut can reduce the steps needed to keep the record current. In Apple's Shortcuts app, create a shortcut, search for MoneyStats and choose its action. Set the fixed and variable inputs, give it a name and icon, then add it to the Home Screen. A coffee shortcut, for example, can keep the category fixed while asking for the amount.
Give repeated purchases a category
Add merchant words as hashtags to a category. MoneyStats matches those words against transaction text when assigning categories. For an uncategorized transaction, swipe right and select Change categorization; assigning a category also produces hashtag suggestions for later imports. Review the matches when a merchant sells several kinds of goods.
Access locks can restrict opening the records.
Free use and upgrades
The US iOS store lists MoneyStats Pro at US$4.49 as a one-time purchase. It removes the monthly transaction limit and ads. Data-Sync is a separate US$2.99 purchase; reports and exchange-rate tools are also separate upgrades. Connecting a bank is an optional recurring subscription and is available only in selected countries.

- Bank connections are subscription features with country and institution restrictions.
- Pro does not include every separately sold extension.
- Pending imports depend on the bank providing those records.
