What it does
TeX4ht converts TeX, LaTeX, and related sources into HTML, XML, OpenDocument, and other outputs. Its toolchain includes make4ht for builds and tex4ebook for EPUB production.
Use make4ht to build HTML from a TeX source, choosing MathML, MathJax or images for mathematics. It drives the TeX4ht conversion chain and can separate temporary build files from the final output directory, creating that destination when needed. Build files/extensions add processing steps; draft mode runs TeX only once and can leave cross-references incomplete, while clean mode removes generated/temporary files without compiling. tex4ebook provides the ebook route. TUG notes that updates continue to enter development/distributions without a full new project release, so selected tool versions matter for repeat builds.
Strengths
- Supports several output formats and configurable mathematics rendering.
Best for
