What it does
TunnelBear documents disconnection blocking, app/site split routing, protocol selection and GhostBear obfuscation, with free and paid access tiers.
TunnelBear gives its controls memorable names, but the functions are concrete. VigilantBear blocks unsecured traffic after an interruption, SplitBear chooses apps or sites for the tunnel, and GhostBear changes how VPN traffic appears to a filtering network. Check availability in the client for your operating system rather than assuming every edition is identical.
The pricing page offers a recurring free allowance of 2 GB each month and paid Unlimited and Teams plans. The free plan is useful for limited traffic; centralized team administration is a different requirement from simply installing the app on another device.
TunnelBear's policy distinguishes browsing and originating-IP exclusions from operational records. These include app and OS versions, current-month active status and total data use, approximate location, and crash/device information. The data-usage total resets at month end. Unless a legal retention requirement applies, account data is deleted on the earlier of thirty days after cancellation or an account-deletion request. The Free plan's allowance therefore uses a monthly counter even though the policy excludes browsing logs.
