What it does
TurboSquid supplies free and paid 3D models through a searchable marketplace. Its filters cover application formats and real-time workflows, while individual listings carry technical and licensing details.
TurboSquid organizes free and paid models by subject, software and production needs. Blender, Maya, 3ds Max and Cinema 4D sit alongside FBX, OBJ and USD routes; separate selections identify rigged, animated and low-poly models.
Browsing does not require a login, but both free downloads and paid purchases need a member account. In Order History, open Show Downloads, choose Select file to download and select the required format. The Downloads area offers the same files; Show All expands additional formats and textures.
The standard Royalty Free licence permits repeated use in covered creations without ongoing royalties. It does not transfer underlying brand or other third-party rights. Editorial models are restricted to appropriate newsworthy, academic or editorial contexts unless those additional rights are cleared.
For games and other distributed software, the model must be secured against ordinary extraction and redistribution. Raw model resale is prohibited. Sharing source files within a company or with project contractors has defined limits, and delivering those files to separate clients can require a licence for each client.
Strengths
- Downloads expose separate file formats and texture files.
- Rigged, animated and low-poly selections narrow technical searches.
Watch out for
- Free downloads also require a member account.
- The model licence does not clear third-party brand or likeness rights.
Best for
- Buying models for an established 3D pipeline
- Projects needing a clear editorial-use check
