What it does
TuxGuitar edits and plays multitrack guitar tablature and opens several common tab and MIDI formats.
Use the current community project when finding TuxGuitar releases. It opens Guitar Pro, Power Tab, TablEdit and MIDI files for local multitrack tablature editing and playback.
Version 2 uses a native format that older TuxGuitar versions cannot read. Export in the old format when sharing with an older client. The project also states that its packages are unsigned; review the package and installation requirements for your operating system.
Strengths
- Multiple tablature import formats
Watch out for
- Version 2 files are not readable by older versions
