What it does

Twine supports creative, development and marketing freelancers with a portfolio, client job listings and its Ari job-search agent. Candidates can apply to Twine projects or use portfolio-based matching to discover opportunities from elsewhere on the web.

The free plan includes a portfolio and one Twine application per day. Ari adds three searches per week with the top ten matches per search, editable criteria and saved jobs. This gives a way to explore both routes before deciding how much application capacity is needed.

The displayed Pro plan costs US$18.99 monthly and includes 50 Twine applications per month, Pro-only jobs, higher search placement and unlimited Ari searches. Premium is listed at US$41.99 monthly with further placement benefits. Features labelled as forthcoming should be treated as future additions. Twine Vault is another choice: a client funds it before work begins, with money held until completion. Direct client payment and Vault payment have different fee implications; Twine’s main guidance says Vault carries a commission. Decide how the work will be paid as well as how it will be found.

Strengths

  • Combines a freelance portfolio with marketplace and external job discovery
  • Makes free application and search allowances explicit

Watch out for

  • Free applications are limited, and Twine Vault payments carry a commission.

Best for

  • Creative and technical freelancers comparing portfolio-led project routes
