What it does
Typotheque designs multilingual typefaces and offers desktop, web and embedded-use licences. Its licensing questionnaire asks about users, outside suppliers, website traffic and applications. Desktop and self-hosted web licences are one-time purchases; hosted webfonts can add usage charges.
Typotheque’s licence questionnaire works through the ways a font will be used: computers, outside suppliers, websites, ebooks, apps, generated graphics and broadcast work. An agency using the files for a licensed client is covered through the Third-Party extension.
For websites, Hosted Webfonts provides generated CSS and includes a monthly traffic allowance with the font purchase. Traffic beyond that allowance adds charges. Self-hosted Webfonts uses a perpetual licence priced by pageviews, with the files served from your own website.
Desktop licences are priced by users, and app or ebook licences are per title. Server coverage is separate for services that generate graphics. Corporate coverage combines several uses and can be purchased with one-time or annual payment arrangements.
