What it does
U is UKTV's free on-demand service for programmes from U&Dave, U&Drama, U&W and U&Yesterday.
Browse by channel, genre or A-Z for a programme, then sign into a free U account. For a television or streaming device, register on the website first and follow the pairing instructions shown in the app. Viewing is funded by advertising and is limited to the UK.
A parental PIN blocks Guidance-labelled programmes, but it must be set on each device separately. Shows expire according to their rights, often after 30 days, so check the programme before planning a later viewing. The U apps no longer carry live streams of the free-to-air channels; use their on-demand catalogue instead.
Watch out for
- Viewing is restricted to the UK.
- The apps no longer provide live streams of U's free-to-air channels.
