What it does
uiw Icons is a separately published MIT-licensed icon set created for uiw. Its documentation covers icon-font classes, Unicode values and component imports.
Search a concept such as arrow in the catalog, then copy the matching icon name into the format your application uses. Install @uiw/icons and load its CSS to render names such as w-icon-apple. A Unicode chart provides a second way to address font glyphs.
React users can import named components from the same package, including individual import paths. The examples adjust a component’s fill and height. Raw SVG files are also supplied, but turning those files into React components requires an SVG transformer in the build configuration.
The icons are free for personal and commercial projects under MIT and can be used outside uiw. Public package installation and CDN stylesheet loading do not require a uiw account. Retain the copyright and permission notice when redistributing the package.
Strengths
- The catalog connects icon names with several implementation formats.
- MIT licensing permits the library to be used outside uiw projects.
Watch out for
- Direct SVG-to-component imports require suitable build tooling.
Best for
- uiw interfaces
- Teams moving from CSS prototypes to React
