What it does
UniKey is a Vietnamese keyboard utility for Windows with Telex and VNI input, encoding choices and shortcut definitions.
UniKey separates the typing method from the encoding sent to an application: Telex and VNI are ways to enter marks, while Unicode, VNI and TCVN are output choices. Use the encoding expected by the destination. Its older Toolkit guide also documents converting existing text through the clipboard or through source and destination files. In that UniKey 3.5 guide, file conversion accepts TXT and RTF; choosing the same source and destination overwrites the source. Keep a separate destination when preserving an original. The current Windows application is free, while Linux, macOS and iOS references on the site describe reuse of its engine.
