What it does
Unzer provides merchant ecommerce and point-of-sale payments, including invoice and instalment collection options. Shops can use plugins or configured payment pages. Live access follows a tailored offer, business verification and a signed merchant contract.
Unzer Invoice lets a customer receive goods before paying the bill. Its documented payment flow separates checkout approval from fulfillment: the integration supplies customer and basket details, authorizes the invoice purchase and displays the payment information. When the order ships, the merchant captures the amount. Only an acknowledged charge triggers the payout.
That distinction matters when comparing immediate payment with deferred collection. Unzer describes the Invoice product as covering customer nonpayment risk; confirm the applicable protection and merchant duties in the agreement. The method is listed for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands, using EUR or CHF. Business-customer support does not extend to the Netherlands.
For a custom shop, Embedded Payment Page opens a configured checkout overlay. After a redirected payment, retrieve its server-side status and verify that the payment belongs to the original page before updating the order. A later payment notification can trigger another status check.
The pricing page requests the sales channels, terminal or till count and expected online turnover for an individual offer. Onboarding then checks company registration, ownership and identity information. After approval, Unzer Insights provides live credentials, transaction management and reporting. Ask which methods, payout timing and charges apply to the business and operating country.
Strengths
- Payment-page styling can match the shop with its logo, colors and fonts.
- Unzer Insights can give additional staff access to transaction reports and dashboard statistics.
Watch out for
- A new embedded payment page is needed for each attempt; individual pages expire after 60 minutes.
- Older invoice and invoice-secured payment types remain supported but receive no further development.
Best for
- Merchants collecting after shipment through invoice payment
- Ecommerce teams integrating local methods into a branded checkout
