What it does

Up combines everyday spending and saving with 2Up joint accounts for two people. It has no monthly service fee, and joint users can maintain their personal accounts alongside shared bills and savings. Up is a banking brand of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank.

2Up gives two people a place to handle joint bills, shared goals and spending. Expense tools also support tracking and settling costs with other Up users, which suits a household where some purchases are shared and others remain personal.

Both people must already be Up customers and keep their individual Up accounts. Each person can belong to only one 2Up arrangement. Either joint holder can normally move money, make payments or close the account without the other’s permission, so the arrangement provides shared access rather than approval before every purchase.

Everyday costs

Up and 2Up have no monthly service charge. Direct debits and online payments are free, and Up charges no international transaction fee. The ordinary Up debit card and 2Up digital card are free; a plastic 2Up card costs A$10. ATM operators can impose their own charges.

Download the iOS or Android app to apply, provide your personal and residential details and complete identity checks. The account terms specify personal use by individuals over 16. In-app support is under Talk to Us.

For travel, the app can display the balance in Australian dollars and the local currency. This gives context to purchases without opening a separate currency calculator. The financial products are issued by Bendigo and Adelaide Bank.
