What it does
Ubooquity serves ebooks and comics from a home library. It supports user accounts, folder access rights and metadata from calibre and ComicRack.
Arrange the folders before setting access rights, particularly when several readers share the server. Ubooquity runs where Java is supported, including several desktop and server systems. It is useful for serving an existing collection rather than acquiring books from a subscription catalogue.
Strengths
- Per-folder user access
- Reads common library metadata
Best for
- Sharing permitted personal reading files at home
