What it does
Vendure is a TypeScript commerce framework for custom stores and business buying. The free Framework handles core commerce; paid editions add company purchasing, contract pricing and approval capabilities. Managed Cloud is announced but its beta is not yet open.
Vendure gives a development team commerce APIs and merchant administration to build around its own storefront. The Framework is free under GPLv3 with its published plugin exception. Commercial editions add B2B functions and a commercial licence; implementation is a separate project cost.
What the paid editions add
| Edition | Price on a 12-month term, billed monthly, excluding VAT | Selected capability |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | EUR 199 per month | Company accounts, quotes and quick reordering |
| Growth | EUR 599 per month | Company hierarchy, unit packaging and shared shopping |
| Scale | EUR 2,499 per month | Standard order approvals and contract prices |
| Enterprise | From EUR 60,000 per year under contract | Advanced approvals and PunchOut |
Month-to-month terms have higher fees. Starter and Growth offer a 30-day trial without a card, limited to one trial per account. Scale's 30-day trial requires a card and continues into the selected paid commitment unless cancelled. Plan fees do not vary with orders, users or gross merchandise value.
Set the level of purchasing control
Standard order approvals can apply per-customer order or spending thresholds. A named person or role receives the decision through email or the storefront and can approve, reject or request changes. The record includes who decided and when.
A multi-stage chain, a timeout or automatic escalation belongs to Enterprise's advanced approval capability. A company requiring two sequential sign-offs should include that distinction in its requirements before choosing Scale.
Merchant administrators have authenticated user accounts and assigned roles. That account requirement is separate from shopper accounts: the framework also supports guest customers.
Hosting availability
The Cloud service is not open yet. Vendure plans a closed beta for paid plans and general availability in Q1 2027; formal production service commitments are planned for general availability. Until access is arranged, plan for self-hosting. Paid plans are intended to include a base Cloud resource allowance, with additional usage billed separately once the service is available.

Watch out for
- Implementation and current self-hosting require technical resources
- Multi-stage approvals, timeouts and escalation require Enterprise
- Managed Cloud is not yet open for general use
