Via provides ad blocking, tracker prevention, third-party-cookie restrictions and per-website settings. Scripts can change individual pages, so choose them with the same care as other browser extensions.
Cloud sync is a separate data choice. Via's February 2025 policy says it processes bookmarks, scripts, filter subscriptions and settings for sync, alongside device identifiers, IP addresses and service logs for its services. It names Firebase for Android 6.3.0 and later and iOS 1.7.0 and later, with older releases using different SDKs. Account controls are under Menu > Settings > General > Sync; Delete account is irreversible. Those server-side choices have a different scope from clearing local cookies.
