What it does
Video.js is an open-source web video player. Its current version separates interface components from the underlying media renderer.
Video.js 10 separates the playback renderer from independent interface components. Start with the source type and framework: the current guide uses @videojs/react for React and @videojs/html for HTML, Vue or Svelte, then adds a skin, media source and any needed extensions.
Packaged modules require a bundler; the guide points existing HTML sites without a build step to CDN scripts. Migration from version 8 has its own guide, so assess the chosen major version and existing plugins before replacing an established player. This is a player library to integrate into a site, rather than a hosted video library.
Strengths
- Independent interface components support custom playback interfaces.
