What it does
Altirra emulates Atari eight-bit computers and the 5200, with extensive hardware configuration, image-format support and debugging facilities.
Choose the Atari model and image format that match the software, then consult the hardware and disk-timing options if behavior differs. Altirra includes its own reimplemented OS, BASIC and handler ROMs, so the standard setup does not automatically require original Atari ROM files.
The download contains no Atari code or game library. Its debugger and audio/video recording tools also make it useful for inspecting software, rather than only launching a title.
