What it does
Visual Lease combines lease management, accounting outputs, platform controls and integrations, with lease abstraction and sustainability-reporting tools. Finance and property teams share the underlying lease records. Configuration and pricing are arranged through a consultation and demo.
Visual Lease keeps the lease portfolio alongside the accounting information it produces. Its accounting offer includes journal entries, disclosures, reports and footnotes; the wider platform manages the lease lifecycle and related controls.
Build and review a calculation
Check the lease type and dates on General, its payment entries under Financials > Entries, and any relevant options in Clauses. Then open Financials > Lease Accounting and use Create Calculations.
The wizard collects the accounting standard, status, calculation period, adjustments, discount rate and included payments. It also asks for the lease classification inputs. Overriding the proposed rate or classification requires a reason.
A Pending calculation lets the team inspect the schedule and journal summary before activation. It does not reach the accounting feed. An active calculation can feed the connected accounting system when that option is enabled. Hypothetical calculations keep scenario analysis separate from live entries.
Export a journal summary
Open Reports > Standard Lease Reports, choose individual leases or a saved filter, and select Journal Entry Summary. Set the period, accounting standard and calculation statuses, then generate the Excel file.
Include historical calculations when the report needs entries from before a remeasurement. This report refreshes overnight, so a calculation changed today may not appear until the following day's refresh.
Configuration and cost
Visual Lease offers a consultation, a demonstration based on the team's requirements and a tailored quote. Implementation includes configuring data fields and controls. The free public training courses explain the software; they are not a free lease-accounting subscription.
Strengths
- Required fields and import checks identify missing or misclassified information
- Multi-level approvals and filtered access permissions can follow the organization’s responsibilities
- The asset-level change log records users, times and reasons
Watch out for
- Journal Entry Summary data does not update immediately after a calculation changes
- Pending calculations cannot flow into the accounting feed
Best for
- Finance and real-estate teams sharing a lease portfolio
- Organizations reviewing lease calculations before sending entries to their accounts
