What it does
VJ Type sells expressive typefaces for editorial and identity projects, including Voyage, Love, Nord and Category. Credited examples in use accompany the catalog, and licensing is selected separately from the font styles.
The in-use views show families in publications, packaging and visual identities, with client and designer credits. Compare those applications with the actual style range: Voyage offers five weights from Light to Black, while Love and Nord are single-style releases.
On the Voyage purchase page, select individual weights or Full Family, then choose Continue to licensing options. The agreement makes font-file delivery conditional on full payment. A client’s licence should name the actual end user; a designer buying on its behalf needs the applicable third-party coverage.
Check the invoice term before buying. The standard agreement defaults to one year with automatic renewal unless another duration is specified, and requires three months’ written notice before a term ends. Desktop, web and social-media permissions are separate. Logo design, packaging, merchandise and app embedding require quoted extensions. Trial files are for evaluation and cannot be used in published work.
Strengths
- Credited applications show families in different design contexts.
- Voyage can be licensed by weight or as a complete family.
Watch out for
- The default licence renews annually unless the invoice sets another term.
- Logo, packaging, merchandise and app rights require separate quoted extensions.
Best for
- Expressive editorial and brand typography
