What it does
VPN Gate is the University of Tsukuba's public relay project, listing volunteer VPN servers and publishing detailed connection and packet-log policies.
VPN Gate is a volunteer relay network, so server choice and operator policy are part of the task. Its public list supports several protocols and links connection instructions. It is a distinct network project built on SoftEther, rather than another download of the SoftEther server.
Read the anti-abuse policy before use: it says central connection logs are retained for at least three months and describes source addresses, timing and destination-hostname records. SoftEther Corporation manages the central records; individual relay operators keep packet-header logs for at least two weeks and handle requests for those logs separately. This service should not be selected on the assumption that it is a no-logs VPN.
