What it does
Hamachi creates on-demand virtual networks with web-based management, gateway access and mesh networking options.
Hamachi's network type is the first choice to make. A gateway network gives remote users a path into a private LAN, while mesh mode lets participating computers reach one another directly. The web management interface handles provisioning and membership rather than asking users to configure routers manually.
Unattended background operation is tied to listed subscription tiers. That matters if you need access to a computer when nobody is present to start the client. Hamachi connects your selected machines; it is not a consumer service for choosing a public internet exit country.
Strengths
- Gateway and mesh network options
- Centralized membership management
Watch out for
- Unattended background access is associated with paid tiers
Best for
- Small teams connecting a defined group of remote computers
