What it does

VREM WiFiAnalyzer graphs access-point and channel signal strength, filters nearby networks and exports access-point details.

WiFiAnalyzer graphs nearby access points and channel strength, with filters for band, signal, security and SSID plus access-point detail export. Support for 6 GHz and wider channels depends on the device and software. Grant the Android scan permissions and enable location services as required; the project explains that it checks whether location services are enabled without reading the device’s position. It also requests no Internet permission. Scan interval is not a guarantee of fresh data: Android can return previous results while throttling, making a graph appear frozen. Recent foreground limits allow four scans in two minutes, with stricter background limits. This GPLv3 application measures visible radio signals, not Internet throughput.

Strengths

  • Channel and access-point signal graphs
  • Network filters and detail export

Best for

  • Android-based Wi-Fi environment inspection
