What it does
VR’s passenger site provides Finnish train searches, ticket information and travel services. It includes night trains, car-carrier services, commuter travel, station resources and an On Track area for traffic and engineering information.
A trip with a vehicle needs a different starting point from an ordinary seat reservation. VR gives night and car trains their own route, alongside the long-distance and commuter sections. Use that to investigate the arrangement before fitting an overnight journey into a wider road trip.
For an ordinary booking, the site explains benefits of purchasing while signed in, including later changes such as adding a bicycle where available. On Track combines a train map, disruption questions and track-work information. That is useful once you know the actual route, especially when a change of train or onward pickup matters. The VR Matkalla app provides another way to keep tickets with you during travel.
