What it does
Vuetify is an open-source Vue UI library with theme configuration, responsive components and customization through defaults, blueprints and Sass. Its official repository links installation and component documentation.
Vuetify supplies Vue components with shared themes, responsive layout and defaults. To create a project, run pnpm create vuetify, choose a project name, TypeScript preference and dependency manager, then enter the generated folder and run pnpm dev if you selected pnpm. Existing Vue projects can install the library and register it through createVuetify.
Theme configuration can set light, dark or system mode, with system mode following the visitor’s operating-system preference. Define your own palette in theme.themes, then use useTheme to change, toggle or cycle themes. A component’s theme property applies to its children, while v-theme-provider can give a larger section a different palette.
The core library is free under MIT and its local setup needs no account; pre-made themes and other store products are optional. Generated light and dark color variations replace any colors with the same names, so leave a base color out of automatic variations when defining those shades by hand. Components are designed for widths of at least 320 pixels. Vuetify 2 has reached end of life, including community security support.
