What it does
Wallos is a free, open-source subscription tracker that you host yourself. It organizes recurring costs by category and currency, adds spending charts and sends upcoming-payment notifications. A local user account is created when the installation first runs.
A subscription register is useful even when the bank statement already shows the charge. Wallos records recurring services and their next payment dates, then can send reminders through email, Telegram, Discord or other supported notification services. Categories separate household entertainment from software and other continuing costs.
The software is available under the GNU GPL version 3 license. There is no Wallos subscription fee for the self-hosted application, but you supply the machine or hosting and maintain its installation. Docker is one supported route; a direct server installation requires the documented PHP, web-server and database setup.
Setting up your register
Open the running installation’s address in a browser and create its first user account. In Settings, add household members, choose categories and set the currencies you need. Currency conversion uses a Fixer API key, a credential for retrieving exchange rates, entered in Settings. Wallos then presents costs in a main currency so subscriptions billed in different currencies can be compared.
The project also provides a programming interface (API) for integrations and supports external sign-in providers. Those options need configuration on your installation. A direct server setup needs scheduled jobs for tasks such as advancing recurring payments and sending notifications; its installation guide gives the required schedule.
Wallos helps you see obligations and upcoming dates. It does not cancel subscriptions or pay their charges for you.
