What it does
Wave provides bookkeeping, estimates, invoices and bills for businesses in the United States and Canada, excluding US territories. Its free Starter plan supports manual bookkeeping, while Pro adds bank imports and receipt capture. Online payments have transaction fees on either software plan.
Free records or automatic collection
Starter lets you create unlimited invoices, estimates, bills and bookkeeping records. Pro adds automatic bank imports, transaction categorization, receipt capture and late-payment reminders.
Pro's standard price is USD 19 or CAD 25 per month. Annual billing costs USD 190 or CAD 250 per year. Payment processing is separate from those software charges, so free invoicing does not mean free card acceptance.
Set up the right business currency
- Open Wave's sign-up page and create an account with email, Google or Apple.
- Enter your business details and check the selected currency. Wave does not let you change that business currency after setup.
- Choose Continue with Starter for free bookkeeping, or Upgrade to Pro for its automation features.
- Follow the verification link in your email.
Wave accepts businesses based in the US and Canada. It does not support US territories. A business outside those markets needs another accounting service.

- Starter permits unlimited bookkeeping records, bills and invoices
