What it does
Silk is a browser drawing tool for flowing abstract images. Colour blending, centre mirroring and a spiral control shape the marks.
Drag colours together to blend them, then change the mirror and spiral switches to alter the composition. Undo and redo let you revisit a stroke without clearing the whole drawing.
Save Picture creates a thumbnail. Right-click that thumbnail and save the image to retain the result. The Z key undoes a mark; Space starts a fresh canvas.
Art shared through Silk uses Creative Commons Attribution 3.0. Reuse can include commercial projects under that licence, with credit and the required licence information. Shared artwork should therefore not be treated as exclusive material.
Strengths
- Symmetry switches change how a gesture develops
- The saved thumbnail provides a direct image handoff
Watch out for
- Shared artwork carries attribution requirements
