What it does
Webcam Effects is a Chrome extension for browser based video streaming. It replaces the webcam background in real time with a solid color, an image or a video, blurs the background with adjustable intensity, and changes the video layout so a face and shared content can be positioned on screen. It also offers smart zoom auto framing and Emoji and Giphy features. The extension installs free from the Chrome Web Store and runs in Chromium based browsers on Windows, Mac and Linux. A separate Noise Cancelling app for microphone noise cancellation is also listed.
The page says the extension works with Microsoft Teams, YouTube, Google Meet and Skype. Listed features include custom layout, background blur, virtual backgrounds, and smoothness and beautification for skin, eye bags and lighting. The site states installation and configuration are completed in seconds and need no intricate settings. It links to tutorials, use cases, a gallery and collections of green screen, background and home and office images. A contact page, an email address and a Hallandale Bch, Florida address are provided. The site states it is powered by Effects SDK and copyright Damiko Inc.
