What it does

WebEngage combines customer data, audience segments and campaigns across email and other channels. Its automation canvas supports event-driven journeys, delays and actions, including separate journeys for individual orders. Staff need an account and an assigned project role.

A customer with several open orders may need a different delivery conversation for each one. WebEngage's Contextual Journeys allow parallel instances for the same person, rather than forcing all activity into one user-level sequence. Relays can also start follow-up from a business event such as a price change, connecting that event to the relevant audience.

Inside the journey, a reachability condition can route someone away from a channel that cannot currently reach them. Other conditions inspect segment membership, attributes or completed events. For a back-in-stock message, define the relevant product event and the next channel choice before adding further branches.

Publishing an edit to a live journey changes the route for people already in it. Review the effect on people already waiting, as well as new entrants. The journey's reporting uses one selected conversion event and a deadline, so choose the action and attribution window that the campaign should report.

To invite a colleague, open the Members tab in Team, select the plus icon and enter their name, email and role. Send Invite emails an activation link; a new user sets a password before joining. Use the same email address as the invitation, since signing in with another address will not grant access to that project.

Strengths

  • Separate contextual instances can follow multiple orders for one customer
  • Business-side events can trigger journeys through Relays

Watch out for

  • Publishing a live flow edit also changes the route for existing participants
  • Journey conversion reporting centres on one selected conversion event

Best for

  • Lifecycle teams coordinating order-specific and behaviour-based customer messaging
