What it does
Respondus LockDown Browser integrates with learning-management systems to restrict other websites, applications, copying and printing during an assessment.
Respondus LockDown Browser restricts an institution's LMS assessment: students cannot copy, print, switch to other applications or visit unrelated websites while the configured exam runs. Institutions can use a free two-month pilot before annual licensing. Webcam proctoring belongs to the related Respondus Monitor product, so the assessment's actual requirements determine whether recording is involved.
The current LockDown Browser privacy supplement describes support diagnostics and logs, early-exit identifiers and reasons, and records of suspected tampering shared with the institution. Help Center personal data is retained for no longer than five years; the institution controls retention of the described early-exit and tamper records. That supplement covers standard LMS integrations and excludes SDK partner deployments.
