What it does

Weekly converts household income, bills and savings commitments into a weekly Safe-to-Spend amount. Its iOS and Android apps offer free manual tracking after signup, with PRO for connected accounts, Funds and additional reports. Bank synchronization serves supported US institutions.

Build the weekly allowance

  1. Enter income at its actual frequency. How often selects the pay interval and Set date records the next payment date.
  2. Add committed expenses such as rent and subscriptions, including each amount, frequency and next date. PRO users can also enter Fund contributions and an existing savings balance.
  3. Choose the day your budgeting week starts. Weekly calculates the remainder for everyday purchases.
  4. Record purchases manually, connect supported accounts with PRO, or combine both. Weekly matches manual entries to downloaded transactions.

This is one spending allowance, even when categories help you understand where it went. At the end of a week, choose Rollover, Contribute to Fund or Ignore It for the balance. Rolling a negative amount forward reduces next week's allowance; a surplus increases it.

Basic and PRO

Basic is free indefinitely, with manual records and up to five tracking categories. The published PRO price is US$7.99 per month or US$47.99 per year, with a seven-day trial. PRO adds unlimited categories, bank synchronization, savings Funds, partner sharing and cash forecasts. Apple or Google manages the subscription.

Strengths

  • The website's Budget Builder can estimate the weekly amount without an account.
  • PRO's upcoming-bills view shows due dates and whether each bill has been paid.

Watch out for

  • Editing an earlier week's transactions changes later weeks connected through rollover.
  • The plan does not maintain separate spending envelopes for every category.

Best for

  • People paid monthly or fortnightly who want a weekly spending checkpoint
