What it does
WhiteBIT offers crypto spot and derivatives markets, account balances and trading integrations. Public market data can be read without an account, while real account operations use identity verification and API keys that authorize connections from other software. Its demo-token pair provides a separate way to explore spot orders.
Public data and account actions have different requirements
WhiteBIT separates REST requests from persistent WebSocket streams. Prices, market status and server time are public; real account operations require a registered, verified account and an API key.
The platform also supports subaccounts under a master account, with separate balances and keys for distinct trading activity. That can help an application keep customer or strategy records apart, rather than treating every order as belonging to one shared balance.
There is no public sandbox, but there are demo tokens
WhiteBIT explicitly says it has no separate public testnet or sandbox. Its first-call guide nevertheless describes DBTC and DUSDT demo tokens, activated from the WhiteBIT Codes page. Their DBTC_DUSDT pair uses the spot order interfaces for placing, querying and canceling demo orders, without identity verification for that demo route.
For real private access, open API key settings, enable two-factor authentication and select the needed permissions. The walkthrough uses Info and Trading. Allowed IP addresses are optional, and the secret is shown only once when the key is created.
Before an order integration uses a pair, read its current market details: minimum asset quantity, minimum total and whether trading is enabled. Demo practice does not establish that a live pair accepts the same size or is currently active.
Costs for live trading
The published spot rate is 0.10% maker and 0.10% taker, with possible differences for particular pairs. Futures list 0.01% maker and 0.055% taker. The daily charge shown for margin borrowing is 0.0585%, separate from trading commission.
These are transaction and borrowing charges, not a monthly software subscription. Check the separate funding schedule for the currency, network or payment method used to move money in or out.
Who can use the account
WhiteBIT requires users to be at least 18. Its agreement excludes US citizens and residents, sanctioned persons and other restricted jurisdictions, with additional restrictions possible by nationality or residence.
The account holder must act for themselves or as an authorized representative of their corporate account. A general trading account should therefore not be assumed to authorize brokerage for other people. Institutional and partner arrangements need the appropriate account relationship.
