What it does
Wikidata is an editable structured knowledge base used by Wikimedia projects and other services.
Inspect an item to understand how the project represents a subject as structured data. This serves a different purpose from reading a narrative encyclopedia article. The introduction and showcased item provide a starting point before attempting broader comparisons or linked-data work.
Use the item identifier, such as a Q number, when saving a reference. The introductory page also links the SPARQL service for queries beyond one item; check statement references before treating a value as settled.
