What it does
Wikipedia provides encyclopedia articles through many language editions, with a central search and language selector.
Choose the language edition before searching a topic. The central portal makes that decision explicit, which helps when names or terminology differ between languages. Use an encyclopedia article to orient further reading, then follow its cited material for a research assignment.
Language editions have different coverage. When you cite an article, use the article page and the version you read. The portal licence does not establish the rights for every image linked from an article.
Strengths
- Many language editions are accessible from one portal
