What it does
WinCompose adds a compose key to Windows so short key combinations can enter accented letters, symbols and emoji.
Press and release the compose key, then enter a short sequence to insert a character. WinCompose defaults to Right Alt, and Options can change that choice. For example, its documented A then E sequence produces Æ. Show Sequences lets you search the combinations instead of memorizing them all. Custom sequences belong in .XCompose or .XCompose.txt in the user profile; restart WinCompose after changing that file. Emoji normally use the compose key twice, which distinguishes them from ordinary character sequences.
