What it does
The WordPress Photo Directory is a moderated collection of contributor photographs published under CC0. Its images can be used on WordPress sites and elsewhere, with searches narrowed by subject category, colour and orientation.
Choose Landscape, Portrait or Square in the orientation filter to match the space in your layout. Results can also be filtered by colour and category, then sorted from newest or oldest.
On a photo page, open Download to choose Small, Medium, Large or Original Size. The menu shows pixel dimensions and file sizes. Select a size to open the image, then save it with your browser. Photo records include alternative text, tags and contributor details; optional credit text is available as rich text, HTML or plain text.
You can download without an account. A WordPress.org account is needed to submit your own photos. Volunteer moderation checks submissions, but the directory acknowledges that it may miss copyright problems.
