What it does
XMedia Recode converts audio and video on Windows with batch processing, device profiles, basic editing, and hardware-encoding options. It can also add or extract subtitles.
Choose an output profile, select the tracks, and queue the files for a consistent batch. The audio controls can adjust volume and sampling rate, while video tools cover cutting, rotation, and scaling. Subtitle support includes SRT, ASS, and SSA. The official page explicitly excludes copy-protected DVDs and Blu-rays, so the disc-conversion feature should be evaluated with that restriction in mind.
The current requirements list Windows 10 or 11, a 1 GHz compatible processor and 1 GB RAM. The site also links older and portable builds, which should be treated as separate compatibility choices. Hardware encoding uses supported AMD, NVIDIA or Intel paths; it is a capability of a matching system rather than a guaranteed speed result. Audio extraction can create MP3 or M4A without retaining the video picture.
