What it does
Xverse is a free wallet for Bitcoin and supported networks including Stacks, Starknet and Spark. It offers mobile and browser access, Ledger or Keystone connections, and separately priced financial integrations.
The network attached to an Xverse balance matters as much as the token name. Bitcoin, Stacks, Starknet and Spark addresses can appear under the same wallet, but their transfer routes are different. Ledger and Keystone connections provide a hardware-signing option for supported actions.
For the software wallet, select Create New Wallet, accept the terms, save the seed phrase and choose a password. Mobile users can also enable PIN or biometric access. This creates local wallet credentials; buying through an integrated provider introduces that provider's separate onboarding.
Backup controls are under Settings, then Backup Wallet. Manual Backup reveals the words after password or PIN verification and checks that you recorded them correctly. Mobile Cloud Backup encrypts the phrase before saving it to iCloud or Google Drive, using a separate backup password. Keep an independent copy of the words so access does not depend entirely on the cloud account.
For Spark, the Copy icon beside the account name opens the address list. Select its Spark entry, not a Bitcoin address merely because both balances are shown together. Only compatible assets should be sent there. A Bitcoin deposit into Spark still needs confirmation on Bitcoin before the Spark balance appears.
The wallet download is free, while blockchain activity and provider services can cost money. For the documented BTC-to-STX swap, Swap and Get Quotes return a Changelly quote with its exchange rate and fees. That quote expires after thirty seconds, and confirming sends the outgoing funds to Changelly for processing. Keep the Swap ID for provider support. Lending, yield and card products require their own eligibility and cost checks; a wallet connection does not make returns or repayments certain.
Strengths
- Additional generated accounts share the wallet’s existing recovery phrase
- A separate web portfolio view complements the mobile and browser wallets
Watch out for
- Cloud recovery also depends on access to its cloud account and backup password
- Displaying several networks together does not make their addresses interchangeable
Best for
- People following assets across Bitcoin and its supported application networks
- Users comparing software-wallet backups with compatible hardware signing
