What it does
Yoco combines card machines, point-of-sale software and merchant tools for independent South African businesses. Its free Core software plan covers everyday sales and business management, while payment processing and hardware cost extra. Paid Plus and Pro plans add features, and identity, bank and business verification are needed before payouts.
| Software plan | Monthly fee per location, including VAT | Main difference |
|---|---|---|
| Core | R0 | Sales, products, customers and business reporting |
| Plus | R249 | Loyalty, multiple locations and appointment management |
| Pro | R499 | Advanced staff permissions, accounting integrations and table-side tools |
Plus and Pro offer a 30-day subscription trial. Processing continues to carry fees. For monthly sales up to R50,000, local in-person debit-card rates are 2.30% on Core, 2.10% on Plus and 1.95% on Pro, excluding VAT. Online rates differ: for example, Core local online cards cost 2.95% + R2 per transaction in that volume band.
Send an invoice from your product list
In the mobile or web app, open Sales > Invoices > + New Invoice. Select or add a customer, then use Add product for the line items. Save and review the preview before sending by email or SMS.
For a new account, provide your name, email and mobile number, then complete the profile with a live selfie, residential address and bank details. Sole traders use a bank account in their own name; registered companies use one in the company's name and supply registration and ownership information. Standard payouts are processed after the daily reconciliation and take another one to two business days to reach the bank, with Sunday and public-holiday delays.
