What it does

YouScan provides social listening, sentiment analysis and dashboards for brand and consumer research. Starter uses text queries and an annual subscription; larger packages add image and audience analysis, with access arranged through a demo account.

YouScan's visual analysis can answer a different question from a text query. A brand name in a caption identifies explicit discussion; a logo, object or scene in an image can reveal how the product appears in the photographed situation. A consumer-research team can review those examples when planning a campaign around usage contexts. Its Insights Copilot helps explore the collected discussion and returns relevant examples for the analyst to inspect.

Starter 3 costs EUR 499 per month, billed annually. It includes three text-query topics, up to 15,000 monthly mentions, one custom dashboard and ten Copilot questions per month. Users, rules and alerts are unlimited. One account integration is included, chosen from Slack, Microsoft Teams or WhatsApp.

The larger, individually quoted packages add visual and audience analysis, more dashboards and an API for passing data to other software. Their unlimited mention allowance refers to sampled collection, not every possible mention. Image-based discovery therefore needs the larger configuration; Starter's text queries cannot answer the same question.

Request a demo through YouScan's form to begin. The team discusses your listening goals, sets up a demo account and explains the relevant features. A YouScan account is needed to work with the collected mentions.

Strengths

  • Visual analysis adds product and scene context beyond explicit text mentions
  • Copilot answers can be examined alongside relevant discussion examples

Watch out for

  • Starter uses text queries and a bounded monthly mention allowance
  • Visual analysis, broader dashboards and API access belong to the larger configurations
  • Unlimited plans describe sampled rather than exhaustive mention collection

Best for

  • Consumer-research teams examining the context in which products appear online
