What it does

Zamp pairs sales-tax software with registration, filing, payment and notice-management services. Businesses can choose a managed process or retain review and approval within their own team. Its paid US and US-plus-Canada offers use a quotation, while a free assessment and temporary API sandbox help with evaluation.

Zamp's two service models divide responsibility differently. With Done for you, Zamp runs the tax process. With Done with you, it prepares work for the customer's team to review and approve. Registrations, returns and notices are part of the service, and onboarding includes migration and existing registrations.

Address-based calculation supplies transaction tax amounts. The US offer includes threshold monitoring, state registration, return submission and direct bank-transfer remittance. Notice management combines daily state-portal checks with a searchable archive and assistance from Zamp's team.

Offerings and cost

Offer Price What it covers
Free No charge for the assessment One-time exposure and product-taxability review, a 30-minute consultation and a 30-day API sandbox
U.S. Custom quotation US calculations, monitoring, registration, filing, remittance and notices
U.S. + Canada Custom quotation Adds Canadian calculations, registration, returns and a shared liability view

The quote depends on the business's tax footprint. Zamp does not price API usage per transaction. Its contact flow asks for a business email; personal email addresses are not accepted there. The free offer does not include ongoing production filing, and its sandbox is rate-limited and cleared after 30 days.

Connecting a custom checkout

Developers can obtain a trial key without a credit card or sales call. The documented sequence is to calculate the tax, then record the completed sale. The calculation takes the delivery address and product tax code for each item and returns the tax due with jurisdiction-level detail.

A calculation alone does not create a filing record. Once the sale is complete, the integration must post the transaction so it can feed the returns Zamp prepares. Production access uses the company's Zamp account. This distinction matters when comparing a checkout test with a complete connection for filing.

  • Checkout calculations must be followed by recorded transactions for filing

Best for

  • US and Canadian finance teams seeking tax software and operational support
  • Businesses connecting a custom checkout to managed sales-tax returns
