What it does

Zenskar brings contract terms, product usage, credits and invoicing into one billing workflow. Teams can turn negotiated pricing into customer-specific contracts and inspect the resulting invoices before approval. Access uses custom-priced Starter, Standard or Enterprise plans, with different support and integration arrangements.

Zenskar is designed for billing that follows a customer's commercial agreement. Contract data can arrive from sales tools, an uploaded agreement or the programming interface (API). Usage data supplies the measured quantities, and credits can have their own expiry or rollover rules.

To configure a contract in the dashboard, open Contracts > Contracts > + ADD NEW CONTRACT. Choose the customer, contract dates, currency and billing start, then add products and prices. For a usage charge, select its billable metric and billing cadence. A compute charge and a storage charge can therefore use different measurements within the same agreement.

Contract settings have consequences beyond the next bill. A draft produces no invoices; publishing makes it active. The invoice preview recalculates as the agreement changes. After activation, the customer and currency cannot simply be swapped, and the contract cannot be deleted.

Zenskar can track changes to price and quantity on separate timelines. For example, a seat count might rise before the per-seat rate changes. That avoids treating every amendment as if all commercial terms changed on the same date.

Invoices for active contracts are generated at the billing cycle. To request one manually, select the contract under Contracts and choose Generate Invoice. Open an invoice under Invoices > Invoices, check its details and use Approve invoice when ready. An approved invoice cannot be edited like a draft; corrections require the appropriate adjustment or credit-note process.

Plans and service arrangements

Plan Main service distinction
Starter Basic integrations and standard support
Standard All listed integrations, premium support and implementation assistance
Enterprise On-demand integrations, dedicated round-the-clock support and tailored implementation

All three use a custom quote. Zenskar lists its core product features across the plans; the distinction is also how the service is connected and supported.

The fit is strongest for businesses with negotiated contracts, changing quantities or mixed recurring and consumption charges. Before activation, check the agreement's dates, currency, metrics and invoice preview together, because those settings determine what the customer receives.

Strengths

  • Contract terms and measured usage can produce customer-specific billing.
  • Pricing and quantity changes can follow separate effective dates.
  • Invoice previews and approval separate preparation from finalized billing.

Watch out for

  • Activated contracts cannot be deleted or have their currency changed.
  • Approved invoices cannot be edited as drafts.
  • Integration and implementation service levels differ by commercial plan.

Best for

  • Software businesses with negotiated customer contracts
  • Teams mixing subscriptions, credits and usage charges
  • Finance teams reviewing contract changes before invoice approval
