What it does

Zeplin is a design-delivery platform for documenting screens, mapping user flows and tracking deliberate version changes. It includes design-system connections, specifications and review workflows for implementation handoff.

Publish the screens ready for implementation from Figma or another supported design tool, then add specifications, annotations and version context in Zeplin. Screen history records deliberate updates, while linked Styleguides give developers the relevant components and tokens.

For a user journey, select screens, right-click and choose Add to flow. Drag between the blue connector points to connect them, or attach a connector to an individual layer. Layer connectors move with that element when a screen is updated. Each flow board supports up to 250 nodes, including screens, shapes and annotations.

Free includes one project with 100 screens, one Styleguide, 30 days of version history and unlimited members. Only the owner can publish designs on that plan. Basic charges by project with unlimited members; Advanced and Enterprise charge for seats and add role controls and multiple Flow Boards.

On the seat-based plans, free Reviewers can view and comment on designs and documentation, but cannot inspect developer specifications. Developers who need measurements and assets require the appropriate paid role. An account is needed to create and manage projects.
